You can spice up the black beans by adding any of the following: salsa; cumin & dried red pepper flakes; OR cumin, lime juice & garlic.

Stir together or serve seperately. Add sliced sausage if available (which can be warmed with the beans). I use about 2 cups of cooked rice per can of beans.

Chicken Alfredo
Prepare pasta as directed.

Heat skillet with about 2 T. Olive Oil. Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt. Cook chicken until completely cooked through. Cut chicken into desired size. Add indicated amount of milk and alfredo sauce packet to the chicken and stir until sauce thickens. Toss pasta, chicken and sauce together. You can also serve this with grilled chicken layered on top.

Note: You can make homemade alfredo sauce, but I found some cheap quality sauce packets and I like the taste.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09599912078704905243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4104850467540824174.post-8495593607144836452009-01-30T09:49:00.000-08:002009-01-30T09:49:00.000-08:00I would also like to see your recipies for the bla...I would also like to see your recipies for the black beans and rice and the chicken alfredo.

Love you blog.. will be checking in often.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4104850467540824174.post-40200871926445716282009-01-14T05:39:00.000-08:002009-01-14T05:39:00.000-08:00Thank you very much--these are going in the file! ...Thank you very much--these are going in the file! I'm still working on what would be most convenient with the fewest supplies to store--I was wondering if you would mind sharing the recipes for the meals on your 3-month dinner list. I always like to have more options to choose from... If you would rather not, I understand, and thanks again for reminding me about the 3-month plan--a lot of the time I am just focused on the long-term storage. I realize I could use that short-term as well, but it would definitely be better to have both.Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08264276199843769399noreply@blogger.com
